Transportation

Edinburgh is home to Scotland’s biggest and most active airport, so flying to Edinburgh is simple. The Waverly railway station makes train travel easy and convenient too. Once you have arrived, there is little need for transportation, as Edinburgh is a very walkable city. However, if you do not wish to walk, buses are the best means of travel, particularly Lothian Buses.

Climate

Like much of Scotland, Edinburgh has cool winters cool summers, with temperature rarely rising above 80°F and rarely falling below freezing . Rain is consistent year-round, averaging about 10 rainy days each month. Edinburgh’s proximity to the ocean and its northerly location means sea-breezes and cold sea fogs, which are known as a haar, are common.
